Of Counsel

“The most important skills that I incorporate while practicing law are compassion and empathy. Clients retain a lawyer to advise them in the toughest of times. In every case, I try to put myself into their shoes so that I can see matters from their point of view, understand what they are seeking from the matter at hand, and provide them with a result that is both satisfying and cost effective.”

Lawrence A. Franco, “Larry”, is of counsel to Klauber Shields. As a native Floridian, Larry has deep roots in the South Florida community and incorporates his commitment to the community in his life and practice. Larry focuses his practice in the areas of Probate and Commercial Law, including the related litigation matters that may arise. Larry has had the privilege of representing a broad spectrum of clients, from small businesses and individuals to public corporations, and has had the opportunity to administer and litigate issues in estates involving millions of dollars.

Larry earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Florida International University, where he graduated cum laude. At FIU, Larry was Chief Justice of the Student Court, was on the Dean’s List every quarter, and was named a Florida Department of Education Scholar. Larry then moved on to Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center where he earned his Juris Doctor Degree with highest honors, summa cum laude. At Nova, Larry was the recipient of the prestigious Goodwin Scholar Award, which provided him with a full tuition scholarship. Larry was also a member of the Nova Law Review.

Larry was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1999, and is admitted to practice by the Florida Supreme Court, in all of the Courts in the State of Florida, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Larry litigates cases throughout the State of Florida. Larry is a former member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and the Association of Florida Elder Law Attorneys. He is a current member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar.

Larry has an active role in coaching youth sports in the community. He has coached baseball for “at risk” youth in the City of North Miami Beach. He also coaches baseball, basketball, football and soccer teams for his own sons, Cameron and Tyler, in both Plantation PAL Sports and in the Town of Davie.

A team committed to results.
Individual commitment to a group effort is what makes our team work. We bring our own individual personalities, experiences and skills together for the benefit of our clients. While we each maintain our own practice areas, we have implicit trust in each other and we know when to seek the others' advice.
