My philosophy has been the same since the day I graduated law school; break the lawyer stereotypes by doing things differently. I know that there are thousands of lawyers, from large international firms to the solo practitioner. The market for legal services is very competitive, but at the end of the day what counts are the results you obtain and the way you treat the people who put their trust in your skill and ability. The key to successful representation of business or real estate clients is to exceed their expectations by adding value through sound legal advice. I never make the mistake of believing that I can get those results alone. Representing a client is a team effort and that’s why our firm is so proud of the partners, associates and staff that make up our team. We strive for a level playing field among all job classifications; we don’t dwell on ranks or levels of authority. Each member of our firm plays an important role and is equally appreciated and equally heeded. From your first visit, you will recognize that atmosphere among our employees, and you will feel at ease about your decision to choose us as your lawyers. I know that you will have great trust in us when you see how much we trust each other.

Adam Klauber is the founding partner and managing partner of Klauber Shields. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and has lived in South Florida since 1974. He focuses his practice on the areas of business law, real estate, mortgage law, leases, contracts, insurance and commercial litigation. Navigating the legalities of business and real estate is an art that requires precise attention to detail and an unrelenting eye for the unexpected. Adam represents a wide variety of clients of all sizes, in various business and real estate transactions, focusing on protecting them from future litigation by making sure that everything is done right the first time. He serves as closing agent on commercial and residential real estate transactions, and as legal counsel on business transactions involving the sale and purchase of businesses and business assets, the set-up and classification of new corporate entities, and the creation and fine-tuning of shareholder agreements for new and existing corporations. Adam understands that his clients are expecting to create value through his services and he delivers on that expectation.

Adam earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 1997, after receiving a Finance degree from the University of Florida. He began his career as an Assistant Attorney General and moved into private practice in 1999. He has been a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida since 1997 and is currently a member of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar. He is also a Level I member of Attorneys’ Title Fund Services, LLC, and issues title insurance on residential and commercial real estate through Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.

In addition to maintaining a thriving law practice, Adam works tirelessly to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a non-profit, donor-supported organization dedicated to developing the means to control and cure cystic fibrosis. Adam’s son, Max, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, which is a lifethreatening respiratory disease that affects an estimated 1,000 new patients each year – most of whom are pre-school age children. He frequently speaks at events sponsored by the Foundation to share his personal experience, to help raise awareness about Cystic Fibrosis and to motivate others to volunteer their time to help raise funds for research. Since 2007, he has been involved with the Great Strides Walk, which is an annual fundraising event in Ft. Lauderdale, for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. These walks, held throughout the country, raised a combined total of $35 million in 2009. The one-day event in Ft. Lauderdale consistently places as one of the best in Florida and in the country. In 2010, Adam created a new fundraiser called the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Dolphin Tournament, which is a family-oriented fishing tournament to benefit the foundation. To date we have raised over $58,000.

In addition, Adam is an active supporter of Habitat for Humanity and has been providing legal services and real estate closings to the Broward County branch since 2000. He also educates their new families on child support issues, wills and estate planning documents. Adam believes in Habitat for Humanity because giving a family the opportunity to live in a clean and safe home of their own is a blessing that most families in challenging economic situations never receive. Ultimately, it helps their children have a more stable childhood so they can become more productive adults.

Adam also supports his community through youth sports. He coaches basketball, football, soccer and baseball. He knows that coaches are among the most influential adults in the lives of young athletes, and coaches play a big part in developing character in children. When responsibly coached in sports, children will achieve better grades, are less likely to engage in dangerous behavior and will live longer and healthier lives due to improved fitness. Adam is passionate about teaching life’s lessons through sports; and coaching children is a privilege that provides the perfect opportunity to do that.

A team committed to results.
Individual commitment to a group effort is what makes our team work. We bring our own individual personalities, experiences and skills together for the benefit of our clients. While we each maintain our own practice areas, we have implicit trust in each other and we know when to seek the others' advice.
